Working groups
We invite non-profit organizations - members of our Association to join its network of working groups — a peer learning (vertaisoppiminen) format where members exchange experiences, knowledge, and valuable information in small, targeted groups.
This is a space for networking, finding partners, receiving up-to-date information on grants, programs, and events, and working together to solve important challenges in our shared field.
We offer two types of working groups.
Regional Working Groups
These groups bring together organizations operating within the same region of Finland.
Here we share information relevant specifically to that region, such as:
-
funding bodies and open calls for grants,
-
regional integration programs,
-
local events and initiatives for NGOs.
We also arrange meetings with city officials, authorities (viranomaiset), immigrant coordinators, and experts from regional wellbeing services (hyvinvointialue). The aim is to strengthen cooperation between NGOs and local authorities, and to build partnerships with other social and healthcare organizations in the area.
Each group has a dedicated WhatsApp chat for communication.
Currently active groups include: Vantaa, Pohjois-Karjala, Turku, Espoo, Helsinki, Kainuu, Jyväskylä, Etelä-Karjala, Savonlinna, Pohjois-Savo.
Thematic Working Groups
These unite organizations from all over Finland around a specific topic — integration, youth work, elderly support, volunteer development, digital support, and more.
Meetings are held monthly via Teams, where members share best practices, ask questions, and learn from each other’s expertise.
The principle is simple — an interest in developing a specific field of work, combined with the willingness to share experiences. Successful models from one region can inspire and support NGOs in others.
Current thematic groups include: Työryhmä nuorisotyö, Työryhmä Kotoutuminen, Työryhmä työllistymisen edistäminen, Työryhmä vapaaehtoistyö, Työryhmä Digituki.
